Makers Market is an outdoor market featuring  local vendors showcasing handcrafted goods, vintage finds, and lifestyle goods.  We've handpicked a variety of artists, dreamers, and collectors and are gathering them all in one place for a unique shopping experience. 

Vendor Details

Makers Market is held on the grounds to the north of our retail location, 116 S. Thompson Road, Sun Prairie, WI. We have a great open grass area with a charming baseball field, large windmill, and soaring pine trees that provides a picturesque backdrop for our event. Booths will be set up in the grass area of the baseball diamond's outfield. Throughout the day we will have live music and a variety of great food vendors.

Facts About The Market

This is a juried show, set-up and display are very important. We will be visiting your social media sites to look through photos of your merchandising. If you have not sold at a show before or are just starting up please do not hesitate to apply. We love finding new talent that is just starting out. Not all applications will be accepted. (Absolutely no direct sales (MLM) businesses)

We currently accept vintage collectors, handmade artisan vendors, and local food vendors. We are seeking unique, current, and interesting items that our customers will be excited to shop. You may have a few "new" items in your booth but the majority of merchandise for sale must be handcrafted or vintage. 

Booth Spaces

All booth spaces will be on the grassy outfield of the baseball field. A tent is strongly encouraged but is not required. You must provide your own WHITE TENT. All booths will be on flat ground so no worries about hills. It is a fairly open area and if it is windy you'll want to make sure your tent is weighted and staked down. 

Vendors are expected to have their booths styled in a pleasing and inviting manor. We want you to have great sales and gain new fans! This is NOT a flea-market type event. All vendors are in charge of their own booths and must have at least one representative in your booth at all times. Unfortunately, we don't have the option for electricity for any of our booth spaces.

Food Vendor Space - $135

We have limited space available and will have a maximum of 85 retail vendors and 5 food vendors. We generally welcome 1300+ shoppers. 

If you are approved to be a vendor you will receive an email with information for remitting payment to secure your spot. You will have 4 business days from the date of that email to remit your payment. If not paid by the due date your space may be offered to another applicant. All payments are non-refundable so please be sure you are able to attend before applying and submitting payment. 

Show Set Up and Breakdown

Booth set up will be Sunday beginning at 6:00 am. This is not a lockable location so there will be no set up the prior Saturday night. Vehicles must be removed from the premises and relocated to the vendor parking area no later than 8:30 am. All booths must be completely set up by 9:00 am. 

Vendors may NOT start breaking down their booth prior to the close of the market at 3:00 pm. Vehicles will be allowed on the property for loading after closing at 3:00 pm. 

Sales Tax Requirements

All vendors are responsible for charging and filing their own Wisconsin sales tax (5.5%) for sales during the market. 

Porters

We will have volunteers that can help with large item pick-ups from your booth. These porters are volunteers and they are not responsible for any breakage or damage while transporting or loading goods if you choose to use them. We will have a convenient pick-up area for all shoppers to load these items into their vehicles.

Insurance

One-day liability insurance policies are usually available through an existing homeowners or business insurance policy for a very low cost. It's encouraged that each vendor obtain a policy that provides coverage for their booth space. Brass Tacks Resale, Scott Feiner, or City of Sun Prairie are not responsible for any damage and/or injury that takes place within your booth space. Please make sure you keep a safe clear aisle through your booth.
